Nepali Culture

The term "culture shock" has become a cliché - overused and overapplied. However, Nepal is one country where the concept is truly apparent.

Yet I hasten to add that the shock is not unpleasant... instead it is a sudden immersion in a society that above anything else, is incredibly hospitable. This is not just my own view. Ask anyone who has visited Nepal, and it's very likely that the first comment you hear is about the friendliness of Nepali citizens (sometimes this is beaten by the amazing scenery, but it's always a close second!). If you need statistical evidence, just look at the number of people who return to Nepal after their first visit - it's one of those "truths universally acknowledged".
