The following list includes items which would be particularly well-received by Kanti Hospital. Many of the drugs can be purchased in Nepal - often cheaper than abroad, and buying them when in Kathmandu might pose less of a problem than if they were to be brought into the country. However, there are many other bits and pieces that are not available. Have a look at the list and give serious thought to whether your baggage allowance can include any of these items. I can guarantee that all donations will be very well received.
Please note that you should be comfortable with the customs rules regarding bringing any medicines/equipment into Nepal. My impression is that it seldom poses a problem so long as their intended use is clear, but obviously no responsibility can be taken for any problems experienced!
I'll update this list with any additional information from the staff at Kanti.
Recently requested items (March 2005)
